Yorkshire new Hollywood!
With various film productions being made in Yorkshire past few years it seems the County is obtaining a reputation for good quality locations. Recently programes such a Black Work ,Jericho and A Monster Calls have been filmed here. This year so far two more are added to the growing list Sheridan Smith in a dramatization of Shannon Matthews abduction called Moorside Project and Robbie Coltrane with Julie Walters in a drama about Yew Tree investigation called National treasure.

Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift hit headlines in June during her recent tour for her outrageous demands in photographer contracts. Basically everyone who wanted to shoot her gigs had to assign copyright to her! Maybe this was why venues had strict security in place, with Ipads and tablets being forbidden to be brought into her shows.Fans could use phones only to take pictures!! Yeah you pay upwards of £75 for a good seat and then cant get a good photo of your idol ,cool eh?
So anyway, photographers could only take photos for one publication during first two songs, and that was it,no syndicating via picture agencies,no re use of picture in the publication.
Hearing of this I purchased a ticket sneaked in a smaller camera than normal and took photos during the whole gig!! No contract signed no restrictions, no handing over copyright to a multi millionairess.

Eclipse.
The UK went Eclipse crazy recently for the partial eclipse, which was almost a non event thanks to the typical British weather,as cloud covered the skies.
Photographers everywhere were seeking out spots to get a good view of the is event I chose Castle Hill on outskirts of Huddersfield, due to it being highest spot in the region. There was a great atmosphere, the car park was overflowing ,people had little picnics and in the end the view wasnt too bad.

Hollyood hills are in Yorkshire
Well not exactly but a lot of TV dramas and films are being filmed in Yorkshire,of late, which is good for the economy! London is apparently too expensive for some productions.
2014 has seen Get Santa,Remember Me, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and most recently Dad's Army have been filmed in the county.
Here are soem shots from a few of those productions.
